Starting a Ferment
To start a ferment from the mobile app:
- Search for and view the wine.
- Tap the add icon.
- Tap Ferment Activity.
- To enter the results for brix and temperature, tap Enter Brix (or Baume) and Enter Temp.
The last result displays the next time you record a ferment activity.
- Tap Submit.
Cap Management
You can do any of the following from the mobile app:
- Record a pump over
- Record a punch down
- View the extracted juice or fermenting wine
To perform a pump over or punch down:
- Search for and view the wine.
- Tap the add icon.
- Tap Ferment Activity.
- If lab analysis isn’t required, turn off the Lab Analysis toggle.
- Tap the Cap Management toggle to enable it.
- Tap Activity.
- Select Pump Over or Punch Down, then tap the checkmark icon.
- If you want to enter a duration, tap Duration, select the duration, then tap the checkmark icon.
- Tap Submit.
You can attach notes and/or photos by tapping the paperclip icon in the upper right.
Stopping a Ferment
To stop a ferment from the mobile app:
- Search for and view the wine.
- Tap the tile that shows the last ferment activity.
- Tap Has Fermentation Stopped to select the checkbox.
- Tap Submit.
