This article assumes you’ve already linked vintrace and Xero, and that you understand the basics of accounting integration.
You must run end-of-month processes from vintrace to ensure that overheads or capitalized costs are allocated before reviewing and submitting journals to your general ledger. This provides highly accurate, per product cost information that you can report on from within vintrace.
Below is the recommended end-of-month process:
- Generate the storage costs for your vessels. This is typically used to allocate barrel depreciation costs to your wines.
- Apportion overhead costs to your wines. The Cost Allocation Console lets you allocate and capitalize indirect costs across selected wines. Your indirect costs may include general overheads, or other production costs (e.g., electricity, labor) not directly attributable to a specific product at the time it was incurred.
- Run the Accounts Sync utility to post all cost movements generated by manual journals to your accounting package. Below is an example of how the manual journals looks in Xero.
