The sandbox lets you create a copy of your production environment so that you can learn and try vintrace’s features.
When you start your sandbox, vintrace makes a copy of your production database. Any changes that you make in the sandbox will only be made to the copy and will not affect your production environment.
After several days of inactivity, your sandbox will be taken offline. However, you can restart it at any time.
Local vintrace administrators also have the option to refresh the sandbox. Refreshing the sandbox copies the production database using the latest backup and removes any changes that you’ve made in the sandbox.
To use your sandbox:
- Click the
user icon in the upper right.
- Select Use My Sandbox.
The login page for your sandbox displays. Login using your username and password
If your browser blocks the popup, you’ll need to allow the popup from the URL, then repeat the above steps if you don’t see the login page for your sandbox.
- Log in using your vintrace username and password.
- Click Start Sandbox. If you’re a local vintraceadministrator, you also have the option to click Refresh From Backup.
Since it can take a few minutes to start your sandbox, you can opt to receive an email (shown below) when it’s been started by entering your email and clicking Notify Me.
If you choose to leave the page in the background, you’ll be automatically redirected when the sandbox is up.
